She was born in Bangor on January 23, 1938, the daughter of Millard Webber and Elizabeth Martin. She attended Bangor local schools and graduated from Portland High School after moving to Portland in her senior year.
Richard and Sally were married on August 20, 1957, at Chestnut Street Methodist Church in Portland celebrating 58 years together before his passing. Mom became a member of the First Baptist Church in 1956, when she moved to Portland and continued her membership when the church moved to Canco Road.
She was a member of the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club alongside Richard. Additionally, she was a member of the Red Hat Society and served as treasurer for Eastern Star for many years.
She was employed as a Supervisor/Manager for Aetna through her working years before her retirement. After her retirement she spent many hours hiking the Maine and New Hampshire trails and fly fishing at any river they could find. Once she had to settle down, she knitted many pairs of mittens and hats for the newborn’s at MMC and Mercy Hospital. She could also be found with a new book to read or a crossword puzzle.
She was predeceased by her son Dean Charles Jones; and grandson Nicholas Richard Jones. She is survived by daughters Deborah and Fiancé, Mark Allen, Barbara and her Husband, Kevin Apple; several nephews, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Richard Webber, from Stetson. She also leaves two foster sons John and James Jensen.
In addition, we would like to thank her best friend, Penny, for being by her side and her neighbor, Ed, for watching out for her. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched and her stories and infectious laughter and endless bowl of peanut M&M’s.
There will be no funeral at her request. At a future date a private committal service will be held at the Whitefield Cemetery.
