Portland, ME – Ruth Bell (Henry) Morrill,formerly Ruth B. Ramsdell, 91, of Portland died on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Manor. She was the wife of the late Clifford H. Ramsdell and the late Linwood Morrill.
Ruth was born in South Portland, ME on October 31, 1921 a daughter of the late Roy M. & Winnie (Curtis) Henry. She attended local area schools and graduated from South Portland High School. Following high school Ruth attended Husson University and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business.
Ruth then went on to work for Maine Central Railroad for almost 30 years before going to work for the Minott Corp., where she spent 10 years and finally retired in 1986 from Maine Saving’s Bank after never missing a day of work.
She enjoyed bowling and playing golf as well as bridge; she and her friends even created a Bridge Club. She also loved her pets throughout the years. Ruth will be remembered as a hard worker and devoted Mom, doing whatever she could to provide for her family.
She is survived by her two sons Deane H. Ramsdell of Steilacoom, WA and Lee Ramsdell of Scarborough, ME. She also leaves her four grandchildren Nicholas, Samantha, Adrian and Zachary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Elm Street Methodist Church, 168 Elm Street, South Portland, ME. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the church.
