He was born on February 19, 1924 in Harrisburg, PA; and was adopted by the late William F. & Suzanne (Mulford) Ham. He attended St. Alban’s School in Washington, DC and summered in Turner, ME. He went on to attend Farmington State Teacher’s College.
He served his country proudly as a member of the US Army during WWII. Upon returning from Germany, Dick married Marion Norman and they settled in Turner, ME.
He spent his working days doing several different jobs including a farmer, a die cutter, a teacher and Maine Guide.
Dick’s greatest joys in life were spending summers at his camp on Big Indian Pond and the time spent with his many canine companions.
He is survived by his former wife’s Marion N. Ham of Yarmouth, ME and Joyce Ham of South Paris, ME, his three daughters Vicki Delaski of Silver Cliff, WI, Kim Ham and Terri Ham, both of Turner, ME and his son Robert Ham of Auburn, ME. He also leaves four grandchildren Johanna Richmond of Greene, ME, Peter Richmond of Phillips, ME, Kristina Delaski of Chicago, IL and Anthony Delaski of Covington, KY, two great grandchildren, Erin Watts of Hanahan, SC and Abigail Webster-Delaski of Covington, KY and 2 great great grandchildren Eli Montieth and Lucas Anderson, both of Hanahan, SC. He was also the Father of the late Roberta Richmond and the brother of the late Patten Ham.
