Norma Anderson

PORTLAND Norma K. Anderson, 91, of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 1, 2017. Norma was born in Yarmouth, Maine on August 27, 1925 and attended Yarmouth schools. She worked for many years as a legal secretary at several law firms in the Portland area. After retiring, Norma worked at the Southern Maine Area Agency on Aging, volunteered at the Northfield Green administrative office, Woodfords Congregational Church, Cedars Nursing Facility and the Portland Public Library. She was married to Henry Ratte and John Anderson, both deceased.

Norma was predeceased by her parents, Maurice & Elizabeth Hincks, and siblings, Maurice Hincks, Jeffrey Hincks, Barbara White and Elizabeth Hincks. She was survived by siblings, Charlene Bowling and husband William of Kentucky and Henry Hincks of Florida; Children, Gregory Ratte of Standish, Maine and Denise DeRice and life partner Christopher Holt of Portland, Maine; Grandchildren, Anthony DeRice and wife Kelly, of Falmouth, Maine, Adrianna DeRice of Portland, Maine and Arielle DeRice Poland, husband Corey and step-son Austin, of Portland, Maine; and Great-Grandchildren, who were the light of her life in her later years, Lucciana, Robert and Gabriel (children of Anthony and Kelly).

There will be small memorial service at the Gardens of Woodfords Congregational Church in Portland on Saturday, June 17th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woodfords Congregational Church.
