1947 - 2024

Lewiston, ME- Mildred Beatrice Garnett, 77, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly at CMMC in Lewiston, on September 21, 2024.

She was born in Lubec, Maine on May 7, 1947, a daughter of William and Angela (Sprauges) Moore.

Mildred had worked in Housekeeping at the Portland Regency Hotel in Portland. She enjoyed her work and was very proud of her years of service. After retiring from the hotel, she enjoyed spending time with her family, watching old movies on VHS, going for walks and drinking her Rose Red or Lipton tea with her feet up.

Mildred was pre-deceased by her parents; 18 siblings; aunts & uncles as well as cousins. She is survived by her beloved children, Bruce Garnett, David Garnett and Joy Leighton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as extended family members. She was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved all her “babies” so much. She was one of a kind with a laugh that you could never forget.

I don’t know why God always takes the good ones first, and we will never figure that out. Millie is up in heaven with family and friends looking down on all of us saying…

“Don’t cry for me, I’m alright, life can be a short ride so don’t waste it on sorrow. Just hold onto those moments and the memories we shared. We’re all headed to the same place anyway; I just beat you there.”

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on October 19, 2024, at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103.
