Matthew Robinson

Portland- Matthew Robinson, 31, of Portland passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2014. The son of David and Gail (Young) Robinson, he was born in Portland on September 17, 1982. He graduated from Deering High School in 2001 and attended the University of Southern Maine and Southern Maine Community College.

Matthew was a talented musician who played trumpet and drums in several local bands. In his profession, as a painting contractor, Matthew was meticulous in detail and operated his own business, M.R. Paint. He was also a trained EMT and was an excellent skier. Matt was well loved and respected by all who knew him, especially his 3 nieces. He was a doting uncle, loyal friend, and loving son and brother.

Matt is survived by his grandfather Earle Young, his parents David and Gail Robinson, his sister Jennifer Robinson Borland and her husband Michael Borland, and their three daughters, Sofia, Jillian, & Penelope.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. Donations can be made in Matthew’s memory to the Center for Grieving Children, P.O. Box 1438 Portland, Maine 04104.
