Windham – Mary Olla Aceto, 72 of Windham passed away July 7, 2017. Born in Portland, Maine, March 12, 1945 to Edna (Swasey) & Daniel J Aceto, Sr. Mary was proud to carry the name of both her grandmothers.
Mary was raised and educated in Portland; graduating from Deering High School in 1965. She began working in Benoit’s Tailor Shop through a school program and continued to be a faithful employee until Benoit’s closed the store several years later. She later worked for Pratt-Abbott, Windham School cafeteria and Raymond School cafeteria. Mary moved to Windham with her parents in the 1970’s where she lived the rest of her life. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking Italian desserts. She also enjoyed going out to lunch with several different friends.
Mary is survived by her 8 siblings, Daniel J. Jr. and his wife Roberta, Camillo R., Samuel C. and his wife Jackie, Dorothy M. and husband Herb Jennings, Linda A. Scammon and partner Clem, Ralph A. and his wife Lorna, Theodore W. and wife Nancy, and Charles J. and his wife Lynn.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Mary was predeceased by both parents.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday July 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stevens Avenue, Portland, Maine. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
