

Portland, ME – Lorraine J. (Meyers) Shea, 92, of Portland and formerly of Cinnaminson, NJ died on Friday, August 10, 2012 in Portland. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Rogers, who died in 1989 and the late Jack Shea who died in 2010.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 9, 1920 a daughter of the late William J. & Agnes (Weidel) Meyers. Lorraine grew up in Palmyra, NJ, attending local area schools and graduating from Palmyra High School before moving to the neighboring town of Cinnaminson, where she would spend fifty years before moving to Portland Maine in June of 2010.
Lorraine was very proud of the fact that she worked as a secretary for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard during WWII. After which she married Joseph Rogers in 1943.
She enjoyed sports and volunteered coaching sports such as hockey and basketball.
She is survived by her two daughters Lorrie Maciag, owner of the Fore Street Gallery, of Portland and Janet Kurz and her husband Robert of Southport, NC. She also leaves her three grandchildren Andrei Maciag and his wife Ellie of Falmouth, ME and Robert and Chris Kurz both of Philadelphia, PA. Lorraine also leaves her beagle “Scooter” who was treated like a grandchild. She was also the mother –in-law of the late Dr. Thomas Maciag who died in 2004.
