Portland – Loren K. Hutchinson, 95, passed away surrounded by his loving family April 7, 2011 at Fallbrook Woods. Born October 23, 1915 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of William L. and Grace Mae Kelley Hutchinson.
He was a graduate of Madison High School, Rochester, NY, Illinois College, Jacksonville, IL. and the Advanced Management Program, Harvard University School of Business Administration.
Loren retired as President/Owner of Integrated Management Technology Inc. While serving as President of Southworth Incorporated of Portland he served on several boards, including United Way of Greater Portland, serving as Campaign Chairman in 1975, Associated Industries of Maine, Portland Symphony Orchestra, President of the Economic Resources Council of Maine, Director of Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce and Incorporator of Maine Savings Bank and Maine Medical Center.
He served in the United States Navy from 1941 to 1945 as a Lieutenant, Sr. Grade and was a member of the Boston Consistory, Gov. William King Lodge #219 for 58 years, the Harvard Club of Boston and the Falmouth Congregational Church Besides his parents he is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Von Tobel Hutchinson and his son, Loren K, Hutchinson, Jr.
He is survived and sadly missed by two daughters, Lynnis H. Gendron of South Portland, Maine, Beth H. Steinke and her husband Daniel of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, daughter in law, Joyce Hutchinson of Winfield Illinois, five grandchildren, Hillary and her husband Joe Caruso of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, Heather and her husband Tom Evans of Glenburn, Maine, James Gendron of Portland, Oregon, Jeffrey Steinke of Austin, Texas, Christopher Steinke of Iowa City, Iowa, and four great-grandchildren Jackson, Griffin and Lauren Caruso of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and Noah Evans of Glenburn, Maine.
Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday April 16, 2011 in the Library at Fallbrook Woods 418 Ray St. Portland.
