Linda (Lewis) Soucy

She was born on October 21, 1938 in North Yarmouth, ME to the late Charles and Mildred (Nickerson) Lewis.  Linda attended Greely High School and has two brothers Howard & Norman Lewis and one sister Allie Morse.  

Linda was married to Harold E. Hibbard Jr. of Pownal and had 5 sons: Harold, Charles, Jody, Tony and Stanley.  She was predeceased by her husband Harold and her son Charles.  Linda married Ernest Joseph Soucy of Rumford Maine and had four step daughters: Linda, Mary Ellen, Beverly and Brenda.  They spent several years living in Rumford and then moved to Florida.  Linda spent 18 years in Florida, where she made many close friends. 

She loved to bake cookies and knit dish cloths, hats and mittens for friends and neighbors.  A few years after Joe passed away; Linda moved back to Maine and lived with her son Jody.  She spent the last 18 months living at Coastal Landing in Brunswick Maine, where she made many more friends.  

Linda never complained about her pain or difficulties with Parkinson’s.  She loved listening to stories told by her brothers and sons that involved hunting, fishing, game wardens and firefighting.  She was an avid reader, loved to watch NASCAR, and having fun with family & friends.  Linda has three grandchildren: Harold IV, Victoria, and Allison.  She was a warm and friendly person who loved to laugh and have fun; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  

A memorial service will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 461 Elmwood Road Pownal, ME on Saturday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00 am.
