Born January 19, 1931 in Crystal, ME, he was the son of Jerome and Alice (Tucker) Fogg, the ninth of eleven children.
He attended Auburn schools and was the first in the family to graduate high school, from Edward Little.
Leon started his career with General Motors in Chicago, then returned to Maine and was employed by New England Tel and Tel for 35 years, retiring in 1986. His job took him all over New England and he made many lifelong friends.
He met his wife, Barbara A. Cole at the telephone company; married in 1955 and enjoyed close to 60 years together. They loved going to auctions and finding beautiful pieces of furniture, which they refinished. They were members of the Riverton Couples Club for years and always had a wonderful time at the dances.
Once Leon retired, there was never a family project he wasn’t included in and was happily willing to lend a hand anytime, as long as he was in charge. He enjoyed hunting with his son David and going to all of his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Leon loved his home and spent endless hours taking care of his lawn and rock gardens. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren and could be found many afternoons teaching his grandkids to swim in the backyard pool. He was always quick to join in any of the water games and did a lot of refereeing, where everyone knew he always had the last word. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and always had the time to listen and share.
Leon was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Foisy in 1952 and his second wife Barbara in 2014. He is also predeceased by his siblings, Colby Fogg, Hilda Michaud, Geneva Richards, Marjorie Gould, Isabel Riechers, Herschel Fogg, Milton Fogg, Jason Fogg and Philip Fogg.
Leon is survived by his four children, Kathrin and Wayne Curtis of Cumberland, Kathleen and Michael Duffy of Windham, Steven and Dorothy Fogg of Winslow and David and Lori Fogg of Sanford; his eight grandchildren, Steven Curtis, Christopher Curtis, Matthew and Jenelle Duffy, Joshua and Amy Fogg, Corey and Kelsey Fogg, Bryon Fogg, Colby Fogg and Morgan Fogg; his four great grandchildren, Maddison Duffy, Kadence and Ainsleigh Fogg and Leo Fogg; he is also
