Karen Lynne Fornisano of Portland passed away unexpectedly on November 23rd, 2024.
Born at Mercy hospital on January 13, 1959, Karen grew up in Portland. She attended Portland High School class of 1978. Karen worked for the city of Portland and The Barron Center. Then worked for many years as a cook at Hawthorne House in Freeport, where she retired from in 2023.
Karen was passionate about cats and especially rescued black cats, because they were less likely to get adopted. Karen loved spending time with her two younger sisters. The trio would go away every year for a sister’s weekend. Where they would enjoy good food, drinks, and conversation.
Karen is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Frances Fornisano. She is survived by her sisters Florence Ellis of Bangor and Cathy Fornisano and her wife Chris Cole of Windham.
Graveside service will be held on Friday December 6th at 2:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery, St. Dominque section, in South Portland.
