She was born in Fort Kent, ME on February 7, 1926 a daughter of the late Baptiste and Eveline (Boule’) Guimond. She moved to Portland at a young age and has been a Portland area resident most of her life.
Julie worked many jobs during her life to help support her large family.
She loved to travel, especially with her son Stephen and also enjoyed reading and cooking. Her children were constantly calling for cooking tips and recipes; some of her specialties were American Chop Suey and Hamburger Gravy.
She is survived by her sons Joseph Willette Jr. of Lewiston, Stephen Willette and his wife Nancy of The Villages, FL, Paul WIllette and his ex-wife Laurie Quattrucci of Portland, Mark Willette of Westbrook and William “Bill” WIllette and his wife Laura Lee of Wells. She also leaves her only daughter Ann Swiontkowski of Lewiston as well as sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Richard Nelson, James Willette and Peter Willette.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Chapel, 307 Congress Street, Portland.
Burial in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland will be private.
