PORTLAND – Joanne M. (Webster) Andrews, 78, of Portland passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Josephs Rehabilitation and Residence surrounded by her family following a period of declining health. She was born in Portland the daughter of the late Bartley and Catherine (LaRose) Connolly and was educated in the Portland school system.
Joanne began work at A&P Bakery and later at Nissen Bakery, where she retired after 35 years. “Jo” raised her 6 boys in the Munjoy Hill neighborhood of Portland, and her home was always filled with nephews, nieces, grandchildren and friends. She was especially close with her gal pals Lois and Virginia. After her retirement “Nana Jo” worked for a period of time at the East End Children’s Workshop as a part time caregiver.
Joanne is predeceased by her brother, Bartley Connolly, III; and sadly by her sons, Michael, Barry, Bryant, and Daniel Webster and her grandson, Rodney III.
She is survived by her sons Rodney Webster and his wife Susan, and her son Thomas Webster; grandchildren, Chris, Keith, Marc, Michael, Megan, Taylor, Brianna and several great grandchildren; sister, Catherine Hall; brother, John Connolly; two nieces.
Joanne will be deeply missed by all those that loved and knew her.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Josephs Ward A and the many people who were so thoughtful and caring during her illness.
