Jay S. Sherwood

Sabattus, ME – Jay S. Sherwood, 54, of Sabattus died unexpectedly at home on Saturday October 5, 2013. He was the longtime partner and the love of his life the late Julia C. Rines, who died on February 3, 2007.

Jay was born in Brunswick, ME on September 30, 1959 a son of the late Clint & Idolyn “Jo” (Gunther) Sherwood. He spent many years doing roofing and siding for local contractors.

He enjoyed playing cribbage, NASCAR racing, both cars and trucks and loved the Patriots and the Red Sox. He always looked forward to Julia’s Halloween parties and was a horse racing enthusiast. Jay also enjoyed camping, fishing, his vegetable gardens, his dog Bobbie Jo and especially his grandkids as they lite up his life.

He is survived by his two daughters Erica Fallon and her husband Sean of Pittston, ME and Katie Rines and her fiancé Isaac Ouellette of Sabattus. He also leaves his four grandchildren Harper, August, Jack and Ragan, his four siblings Patty Norris of IL, Herbie and Jerry Sherwood both of Texas and Clinton “Vaughn” Sherwood of Poland as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Liam Fallon, who died on January 9, 2009 and the grandson of Geraldine Gunther, who died in 2005.
