PORTLAND - Janice "Jan" E. Carter, 90, died peacefully on June 20, 2017. Jan was born on March 25, 1927, to Helen (Lamont) and Ralph Hopkins of Portland.She graduated from Deering High School and also attended Westbrook College. Jan enjoyed traveling, cooking, crafts, playing bridge, and spending time with friends and family.She was generous, funny, and dedicated to those she loved.Jan is survived by two sons, Bruce Carter of Tampa, Fla. and Brent Carter of St. Petersburg, Fla.A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on June 28, 2017, at 11 a.m.
