Jimmy was born August 29, 1950 in Portland the son of the late Fernald Neptune and Rose Ferrante and attended Portland Schools. He was a proud Tribal member of the Penobscot Indian Nation.
He was a self-taught, very artistic and talented Mason creating many beautiful sites of brick and rock from Maine to Massachusetts and he was always very proud of the finished product and how they have stood the test of time. He will remain a part of New England through his work for eternity.
Jimmy always had a twisted sense of humor and a great outlook on life, even on his darkest days especially with a little help from Mary Jane.
He was an avid chess player “I can beat you in 6 moves” he used to say. He loved to go fishing, play his guitar, build small wooden boats, play softball, tinker with cars and ride his motorcycle.
He was passionate for life and loved his family, friends and pets dearly.
He is pre-deceased by the love of his life May Brown in 2010 and his beloved son Denis in 1990.
He is survived by his daughters Tammy Neptune and her son Andrew of Buxton and Melissa Neptune and son Steven of Springfield, Mass, Amanda Neptune and her partner Jason Foshay and their children Jonathan, Sophia and Jessa of Scarborough, his son Philip Neptune and his partner Annie Brown and their children Sabrina and Nylah of Portland and his daughter Jennifer Neptune Schroeder and her husband Paul and their children Serenity, Bailey and Calvin of Chesapeake, VA. He also leaves his sisters Linda and Bernadette of Portland, as well as his friends Derrick, Billy, Joey, Brian, Larry, Dave and the crew at the coffee shop in Westbrook to name a few, and several cousins in the Portland area.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave. Portland.
He and his son Denis will be laid to rest on Thursday May 23, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery following the service.
