Henry Cormier Sr., 87 of Windham, ME died Sunday, November 18, 2012.
Henry was born in Mexico, ME on September 2, 1925. He attended Portland schools, and was a WWII veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Henry was a Diesel mechanic for Krisway and Hertz. He enjoyed his work and was always helpful to younger people learning the trade.
Henry enjoyed his summers at the family camp on Watchic Lake in Standish. He, along with his loving wife Dorothy enjoyed traveling in their R.V. and spending winters in sunny Florida. He led a happy life with many hobbies, motorcycles in his younger years, sailing, boating, water skiing and fishing. He restored several vehicles mostly old jeeps and VW’s.
Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all those whose life he touched.
Predeceasing Henry is his mother Marie Cormier, a sister Mabel Tuttle, and a brother Raymond.
Surviving is his loving wife of over 64 years Dorothy (McKenna) Cormier of Windham; their children, Linda Cormier of Windham, Gary Cormier and his wife Vickie of Yarmouth, Henry Cormier Jr. of Scarborough; grandchildren, Amy Cormier, Gary Cormier Jr. and his wife Cori, Nick Cormier, and Ben Cormier. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Brandon, Madison, and Nathan.
A 10:00 AM funeral service for Henry will be held this Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland, ME. Burial will follow at Forest City Cemetery of So. Portland.
