Harold P. Flint, 80, of Portland, passed away peacefully at his residence January 31, 2012. He was born June 19, 1931 in Sweden, Maine a son of the late Preston and Ruth Flint. Harold attended schools in South Portland. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a medic. Harold met his wife, Theresa, delivering papers at her family’s store, DiMatteo’s Grocery Store on Pleasant Street in Portland. Harold was lifelong member of the VFW Post 6859. He retired from Portland Press Herald after serving as a Supervisor in the Distribution Center. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, bowling, and enjoyed playing cribbage and cards. He was an avid Red Sox Fan and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Most of all Harold enjoyed spending time with his family.
Harold is survived by his children: Preston Flint of Portland, Steven Flint and his companion Judy of Portland, Linda Field of Portland, Joseph Flint and his companion Donna of Winthrop, Roseann Worrey and her companion David of Portland and Philip Flint and his wife Deborah of Gorham; 7 grandchildren: Scott, David, Ryan, Jessica, Joshua, Abigail, and Matthew; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Theresa DiMatteo Flint November 9, 1986 and his brother Ronald Flint of Manchester, NH.
Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St Portland, Me where a funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, February 3, 2012. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery South Portland.
