George’s career started when he enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of eighteen. He later worked for KLM airlines as head of operations for seventeen years and then as assistant manager for Pan Am airlines for seven years, both at JFK airport.
When he and his family moved to Maine, George worked at BIW as a pipefitter for seventeen years until retirement. However, his proudest accomplishment was being the husband to his wife for fifty years, Carolyn, and father to their five daughters and five son-in-laws, who in his eyes were his own sons, as well as being a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren.
His happiest moments were spent at family gatherings and perfecting his meticulous vegetable garden. We will always miss his wonderful sense of humor, his gift of storytelling and his spontaneous singing.
George is survived by his wife of fifty years Carolyn (Tuthill) Mott, his five daughters Constance, Michel, Delia, Nicole and CaraRose, his five son-in-laws Stephen, Christopher, Christopher, Mark and James, his twelve grandchildren, his brother William and his wife Fay Mott.
We will forever love you, until we meet again.
