The son of Ferdinando Fasulo and Tomasino (Maietta) Fasulo, Frank was born in Portland on March 23, 1919, educated in local schools, graduating from Portland High School in 1937. During high school he was the captain of the golf team which became a lifelong hobby. He loved to sing and was a member of the Glee Club. After graduation Frank started his career in transportation beginning as a driver for Utterstrom Trucking, First National Stores, then dispatching for McCarty Transport and the City of Portland School Department. Frank was a proud member of the New England Teamsters & Trucking Union Local # 340.
Frank married the love of his life, Mary Catherine Geary on July 12, 1941. They would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this July. Frank and Mary became parents to 12 children who survive him and one infant daughter, Ann Marie deceased.
Frank is survived by six daughters, Maureen R. White and husband Paul G. of Portland, Catherine A. Bolduc of Portland, Barbara J. Daugherty of Portland, Mary Elizabeth Fasulo of Portland, Jeanne M. Wyatt and husband William of Rockport, Rosemary A. DiFazio and her husband Luigi of Freeport, and six sons, Robert S. of South Portland, Timothy P. of Portland, Richard J. of Bangor, William F. and his wife Lynne of Westbrook, Brian J. and his wife Lori of Portland and Peter M. and his wife Bobbi of Portland. Frank is also survived by 30 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Frank is survived by his two brothers, Arnold and his wife Hannah, brother James, and two sisters, Sister Mary Fasulo, R.S.M., and Gloria Dubail and her husband Edward all of Portland. Dad also leaves three first cousins, Lucy Cassese, Salvatore and Dominic Raia and their families. He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Philip, who died in World War II, and brothers Albert, Joseph, John and Dominic; and sister-in-law Joanne Fasulo (James's wife deceased). Frank was also predeceased by a special son-in-law, David Bolduc. Frank leaves three sisters-in-law, Mary (Albert's wife) and Suzanne (John's wife) Josephine (Dominic's wife); and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was communicant of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was active for many years in the church suppers and fairs. Frank was also an Umpire for Portland Little League # 7 for many years and was well thought of as a very fair Umpire. Frank was a member of the Columbia Club in Portland for many years. In his younger years Frank was a caddy for the Portland Country Club where he honed his golf skills. Frank was an excellent golfer with potential to turn pro had he chosen. Frank was an avid Red Sox fan and rarely missed a game. He enjoyed staying current with world affairs reading the daily paper cover to cover as well as watching the news channels. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 11, from 4-8 p.m., at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with interment following at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
Special thanks to his wife Mary for her dedication and care for Frank during his illness and to his daughter Barbara for overseeing Dad's care and all other family members for their help and support.
