Edith was born in Berlin, NH on March 31, 1919, the daughter of the late David and Bessey (Barrett) Quinn. She was a graduate of Portland High School and for many years Edith worked at her husband's bakery in Falmouth, the Danish Pastry Chalet.
When in good health Edith attended the Highland Lakes Congregational Church in Westbrook where she was part of the Woman’s Fellowship. Edith was also a member of the Rebecca’s and the Woman’s Semi-Circle at Raymond Community Church. She enjoyed taking long walks, reading, and the company of her loving family.
Edith was predeceased by her loving husband Donald F. Bailey in 2004.
Surviving is a daughter Carolann Bailey Carlista and her husband Paul of The Villages, FL; two grandchildren, Mary Jo More and her husband Eric of Waxhaw, N.C., Paul Carlista Jr. and his wife Lisa of Scarborough, and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Julia, Katy, Jack and Grace. Also surviving is her sister Betty Hilliard of Palm Harbor, FL.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at 2 North at the Barron Center for all their help and kindness to Edith.
A memorial service for Edith will be held at a time to be announced in the summer of 2013.
Care for Edith has been entrusted to the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home of Portland, ME.
