Douglas F. Cole

Portland- Douglas F. Cole, 83, passed away, with his family at his side, on Tuesday September 13, 2011. The son of George H. and Louise C. (Ames) Cole he was born in Portland ME on June 9, 1928. Doug was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a loyal Burnham & Morrill driver for 35 years. He was a loving husband and best friend to Frances Friend Cole. He was the father of Sandra, Wayne, Douglas, Stephen, Patricia, and James; he was a grandfather to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Awaiting him are his children Brian, Margaret, and Catherine, and several brothers and sisters. Doug was a proud WWII Marine to the very end. A final Semper Fi from his best friend Jim. Arrangements are under the care of Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford Street, Portland. A graveside service will be held on Friday September 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Forest City Cemetery 232 Lincoln Street, South Portland.
