Born on May 23, 1927, and raised in Portland, Dorothy was a strong and resilient woman. She was always there for her family, even helping to take care of her youngest sister while her mother was working.
Dorothy worked her way through the ranks at People's Heritage Bank in Portland for over 16 years, finishing her career as a Mortgage Closing Officer, retiring in 1991.
Dorothy continued to show her strength, resilience, and positive attitude, surviving two bouts of leukemia, and one of lymphoma. Dot's positive outlook on life and her strong faith in God pulled her through the difficult times and carried her through life. She instilled this positive attitude and strength in her family as well.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, John C. McVey; her daughter and husband, Judy and Michael Schini, her son, John McVey and his partner Mark Cascione, MD; her sister Shirley Noyes and brother-in-law Windy, her brother, Donald Adams and sister-in-law Pat; and her two grandsons, Wesley and Adam Schini.
Dorothy's passing has left a great void in the lives of her family and friends and she will be missed beyond words.
