Donna was born on March 28, 1962 in Portland. After her mother, Lena, passed away when she was just six years old, she was raised by her Aunt Josephine Botto. She grew very close to her in the years after her mother passed. Donna, always known as a class clown, attended Cathedral Elementary School until moving onto William B. Jack Junior High School and then finally graduating from Portland High School in 1980.
After high school she spent a few years working at Arthur Anderson Insurance Co. She also worked in a childcare setting throughout the years due to her great love for children. Donna also spent 22 years taking care of her own family. Most recently she worked at the Portside Learning Center in Portland.
Donna was very involved in her children’s schooling and the different activity’s they took part in. She always made it a priority to attend her children’s field trips and other school function’s.
Donna was a very devoted wife, mother and friend. She was well known for putting her children first no matter what. She was always more than happy to help anyone. Donna enjoyed talking, laughing, teaching, anything to make someone else happy. She loved to cook and make arts and crafts. She was a very uplifting person who put time and cares into everything she did. She loved spending her time with her family and friends in any way she could. She enjoyed long walks and car rides. She always enjoyed spending time with children, and children loved to spend time with her. Donna would always encourage her children to enjoy being outside. She took them to the beach each and every summer.
Besides her husband, Merritt, Donna is survived by her two daughters, Nicole Marie Warren and her Companion Brian Dorr of Portland, and Justina J. Warren of Portland, a niece, Kaila Paquette, two nephews, Mathew Paquette and Billy Paquette all of North Hampton, New Hampshire, a Mother-In-Law, Margret Grover also of North Hampton, and several beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles throughout Portland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday June 13, 2013 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave. Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10 a.m.at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street Portland, with a burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
