Donna was born on February 19, 1966 to David and Carol Harris and grew up in East Winthrop, Maine. She graduated from High School in 1984. Within 5 years of graduating Donna wed and started to raise her only son Damien, which was her greatest joy.
Throughout Donna’s life she consistently faced physical health issues. Donna was born with Poland Syndrome which never slowed her down, not for a second. At the age of 13 Donna swam across and back China Lake and did it again the following year.
At 15 Donna started her first job at Kelbees Ice Cream Shop. She took incredible pride in all her work over the years. She was a great sales person in many arenas. She worked in daycare and as a caregiver in an assisted living home. She enjoyed the artistry of being a floral designer. Donna was a phlebotomist with the Red Cross and she volunteered many hours with the Albany Damien Center for A.I.D.S. Patients.
Donna had beautiful penmanship and enjoyed writing neighbors cards and letters while growing up. Friends and family felt very special to receive a card or letter from her hand. Donna kept all writings, photo’s and cards from all the people she loved and kept mementos near. She also wrote beautifully the scriptures that were close to her heart.
Those who knew Donna describe her as a beautiful, brave, caring, compassionate, considerate, dedicated, empathetic, forgiving, family, funny, gentle, genuine, independent, kind, light hearted, optimistic, sweet, strong and smart woman. These are only a few traits that Donna had.
