He graduated from Brockton High School in 1966, soon after he joined the Army in October of 1967, where he served in the Vietnam War in 1969. After the passing of his mother he moved to Naples, Maine. He enjoyed his life there and treasured being outside. He preferred listening to music and playing his guitar. He often traveled back to Vietnam where he met his loving wife, Quynh. They have been happily married for 19 years and he cherished her very much.
He is survived by his wife Quynh Irwin of Naples, Maine and sister Judith Irwin of North Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Donald is preceded in death by his sisters Joan Blye who passed in 2015 and his sister Janet Anshewitz who passed in 2020.
Cremation has taken place at his request. Cremated remains will be laid to rest at a later date.
