Claire Homan

Claire was born in Penobscot, ME on July 20, 1915 a daughter of the late Guy A. & Doris L. (Grindle) Leach. She attended local area schools and graduated from Clark High School.

Claire was employed as a bookkeeper for Holmes Stickney for 34 years before retiring.

She was a member of Central Square Baptist Church as well as a member of the Maine Rose Society, the New Hampshire, New England and the American Rose Society. She and her husband helped initiate the formation of the Maine Chapter.

Claire leaves her niece Janice L. McKay and her husband Bob and their daughter Allyson all of Lisbon; as well as a sister-in-law Nettie Leach of Penobscot, ME. She was also the sister of the late Leroy Leach who died in 1989.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, January 6, 2010, from 1 – 2 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
