Carmen was born August 26, 1957 at Central Maine Medical Center, to Theresa (Sarrazin) and Joseph St. Hilaire. She grew up in Auburn, Maine and graduated from Edward Little in 1975.
Carmen spent her twenties waitressing and making lifelong friendships at Steckinos Restaurant (Lewiston) before relocating and continuing her waitressing career at Valle’s Steakhouse. (Portland) Here, she met the love of her life, Bruce Baldwin. After marrying Bruce, Carmen left waitressing to open an in-home daycare called, Play Days. Here she raised her two daughters as well as many other children in the community over 35 years.
Carmen donated to many organizations over the years. Around the holidays she enjoyed donating to children, teenagers and families in need.
Carmen was a lover of the arts. She enjoyed seeing plays, musicals and concerts, one of her favorites being Mercy Me. Her other hobbies included shopping, craft fairs and traveling all with her family and friends.
Carmen is survived by her husband, Bruce Baldwin of 37 years, her daughters Shaylah Baldwin, Paige Baldwin and her wife Nicole Baldwin. She is survived by her siblings, Adele and Steve Ford, David and Pat St. Hilaire, John and Barbara St. Hilaire and Rachel and Greg Keene. As well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she adored. Carmen is predeceased by her sister, Anne St. Hilaire and her parents, Joseph and Theresa St. Hilaire.
A celebration of life will be held on August 27, 2023 at The Maine Wedding Barn in Minot, Maine. Come anytime from 2pm-5pm, all are welcome. It was Carmen's wish that everyone dress in bright, happy colors, come to celebrate and as always; bring your funniest joke.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations ~ Carmen wishes to have any donations sent to, Misfit Farms, Portland Players and/or Safe Haven Humane Society in her honor.
