1927 - 2019
PORTLAND - Arthur N. Schade, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in Portland on July 18, 1927, the son of the late Harry and Bessie (Gale) Schade.
Arthur attended Portland schools, graduating from Deering High School in 1945. He went on to attend and graduate from the Northeast Business School. He was married to Christine (Gregor), and they shared a loving marriage until her passing in 1997. Arthur was an accountant, and worked for Chaplin Cadillac from 1969 to 1989. He also worked for Bill Dodge Auto and Joseph's Automotive in Waterville until his retirement. Arthur proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #164 in Falmouth, serving as Post Commander and other various offices.
Arthur had an interest in the history of the Civil War. He enjoyed collecting stamps, solving jigsaw puzzles and crafting historic model airplanes.
Arthur is survived by his son, Paul C Schade and his wife Lori of Topsham; his granddaughter, Amber; his two great-grandsons, Levi and Holden, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and his two brothers, Eddie and Ken.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11am at the American Legion Post in Falmouth. A committal will be held at a later date to be determined in the spring at Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough.
