

BRUNSWICK: Arthur (Larry) Lund, 72, of Brunswick passed away evening of Sunday, October 11th, 2015 from Acute Leukemia at Midcoast Hospital. Arthur is survived by his brother Francis Lund of Gray, his sister and brother-in-law Betty and Jon Gaudet of Westbrook, his brother and sister-in-law Randy and Sharon Lund of Topsham, and his brother George Lund of Texas. Arthur had a vast extended and close family that he held dear to his heart and whom sorely grieve his passing.
Arthur grew up in a family of 13 siblings and was the son of Austin and Katherine Lund. His father Austin was a war veteran and his mother Katherine was a homemaker raising 13 children in a household. Arthur later in life took pride in his work at several different locally owned Brunswick businesses for several years. Arthur then decided to remain retired after working and find solace in volunteering at the Humane Society in his spare time.
Arthur spent the last remaining years of his life living in Brunswick where he would become a major staple in the community. Arthur became an avid baseball fan that rooted for the Boston Redsox, enjoyed an occasional cigar smoke with friends, dined at Five Guys and Fat Boy Drive-In in Bath, make occasional trips to Dunkin Donuts, enjoyed cooking a variety of different meals with staff, and went on many vacations to enjoy life. Independence Association was his home based services that would ensure all of his needs were met and that he experienced life to the fullest. Arthur’s memory will be shared by the many friendships he made in Brunswick and the family he grew up with.
Visiting hours will be held on October 20th, Tuesday at 10am at the Jones, Rich, and Hutchins Funeral Home at 199 Woodford St Portland, ME. His funeral will begin that same day at 11am, followed by a lunch and then burial at the Forest City Cemetery at 232 Lincoln St. South Portland.
