Antonette Marie Knox

Portland – Antonette M. Knox, 82, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 6, 2011. Antonette was born, January 5, 1929 in Portland, Maine the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Tucci) DePeter.

Antonette was a dedicated caregiver in many aspects of her life. She retired from J.J. Nissen in 1986. She enjoyed learning about nutrition and fitness and continued her working career as a CNA with the Barron Center. Antonette shared her love of music through her gift as a pianist playing for churches in her area as well as for family and friends. She loved to sew and earned several awards in relation to volksmarching. Antonette remained active in her family’s lives as well, she loved them dearly. She was able to talk with her brother, sisters and grandchildren almost every day and looked forward to their many visits. Antonette attended the South Portland Church of the Nazarene.

Antonette was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Henderson of California; son, Owen Knox, Jr.; sister, Mary Davis of Portland, ME.

Antonette is survived by her daughter, Marie and Ralph Eger of Virginia; sisters, Josephine Mayberry of Oakland, Me., Esther and John Fenlanson of Oakland, Me., Gloria Hammond of Portland, Me., Deborah and Bobby Mahoney of Gorham Me.; brother, Joseph DePeter and Nancy Mathieu of Biddeford, Me. In addition she was greatly loved by her seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation Monday, February 14, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Henderson, son in law, officiating the service. Interment will be in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery.
