Andrew Thayer Collins

Gorham- Andrew Thayer Collins, 54, passed away on May 14, 2024. The son of Sumner Collins and Nancy Bickford, he was born on June 1, 1969 in Hof West Germany. Being born into a military family, he lived in many places in Germany and the United States. Andrew excelled at making people laugh with his stories, and voice impersonations. He also had an infectious smile that brought a smile to other’s faces. After high school he enthusiastically pursued the trades finally settling on finished carpentry. His dream was to own his own cabinetry shop one day. The ocean was one of his favorite places to go with his wife Sue and with those he loved, they also enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains and traveling. He embraced his Irish heritage and enjoyed attending the Highland games.

Andrew was predeceased by his mother Nancy.

He is survived by his wife Susan Collins of 14 years, his son Devon Collins and his wife Jolee of San Diego CA, his stepdaughters, Jenna Currier of Westbrook, and Danielle Currier and her husband A.J. Amatrudo, his grandchildren Royce, Terrance, Liam, C.J., Kieran, and Brielle, his father Sumner “Skip” Collins and his wife Marcia of Florida, his sister Lillie Collins, and her significant other Leslie Seid of Colorado, and his brother Allen Collins and his wife Jennifer, of Virginia.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland.
