

Alice was born, August 24, 1919 in Falmouth, Maine the daughter of the late Everett W. and Edna (Caswell) Libby. She graduated from Windham High in 1938 and began the nurses training program at Dr. Leightons Hospital. She graduated in 1942. Alice was a dedicated employee at the Osteopathic Hospital in Portland for 20 years. She was very active in the community, giving of her time and talent. She was a member of Columbia Rebekah Lodge #46 and belonged to Good Samaritan. Alice was blessed with the endearing nickname of “Mamie” given to her by her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will love and miss her dearly.
Alice was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years Stanley Heskett, Sr.; sisters, Inez Morrell and Abby Libby.
Alice is survived by her children, Stanley Heskett, Jr. and wife Patricia, Sharon Dwyre and husband Paul, Donna Heskett; five granddaughters, Tracy Tracy, Amy Holmes, Paula Henckel, Julie Heskett, Libby Heskett Shirmer; five great grandchildren, Rachael Holmes, Leah Holmes, Erin Tracy, Ben Henckel, Max Henckel; sisters, Mary Hall and June Stimson; sisters-in-law, Pauline Flaherty and Christine Heskett.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the dedicated and caring staff of the Barron Center and SolAmor Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11am at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
