Westbrook – My mother, Alice Josephine O’Reilly-Buehne, who was born on Cliff Island on September 1, 1929; passed away at her home in Westbrook on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Alice was the third youngest of Myles L. and Inez (Dyer) O’Reilly’s 13 children.
Alice had me (Joanne) when she was 19 years old, so we kind of grew up together. She was a very loving mother and worked very hard throughout her life, retiring from Unum Insurance Company. She married my stepfather, Walter Jordan when I was about 4-5 years old and I was so happy to be getting sister, Nancy Jordan and a brother, Richard Jordan. We spent summer’s going to Sebago Lake and Cliff Island; winters skiing, skating, and having a great time in the snow.
After the passing of Walter, my mother spent a great deal of time alone for many years; until the day I convinced her to start bowling again. Once a champion bowler, she found herself with renewed youth. With that renewed youth, she met Norman Buehne, who loved her dearly. Norman and Alice traveled and loved to go out dancing and socializing. Norman and Alice we very happy together, and now they are together again.

O’Reilly of Cliff Island, Nancy and George Ward II of Gray, ME, Colette Jordan O’Reilly of Bradenton, FL; Grandchildren, Amy Ward of Gray, Dustin O’ Reilly of Litchfield, Michael Ward of Westbrook; great grandchildren, Allannah S., Lauren T., and Brandon F.
