Born in Reading, PA, Bill was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 1 month, previously residing in Jacksonville, FL.
During Vietnam, Bill served in the US Navy.
Prior to retirement, he was the owner/operator of Mechanical Dredging in Sanford, FL for over 20 years.
Bill was of the Lutheran faith; and a member of the American Legion in Fort Pierce, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Debra Ames of Jacksonville, FL; children, Trina Licata and husband Frank of Okeechobee, FL, Vicki Keller and husband Bryan of Port St. Lucie, FL, William Ames, Jr. of Keystone Heights, FL, Ashlie Young and husband Jason of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kraig Passanante of Keystone Heights, FL; five grandchildren, Timmy (his favorite), Kristin, Aidan, Brody and Jocelyn; one brother, Don Ames and wife Helen of Leesburg, FL, three sisters Joan Davis of Leesburg, FL, Jean Banos of St. Petersburg, PA, and Janet Banos of PA.
He was predeceased by a brother Dennis Ames and sister Beverly Martz.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, October 14, 2011, 1:00PM at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie, FL.
