Walter "Gene" Franklin

Gene, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Ebenezer, NY on June 28, 1932. The son of George Franklin and Leyon Ross Franklin.

Gene was a successful business man having founded SAFE Security , Cheektowaga, NY which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2000.

Gene had a passion for Bible study and later in life enjoyed landscape gardening. Gene loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. The highlight of Gene's week would be attending worship services at Grace Emmanuel Church.

Gene is survived by his wife of seven years, Linda Henniger Franklin, Port St Lucie, children, Sheryl J Franklin, Baxter TN, Brenda Franklin Acker and her spouse Carlton Acker, Pompano Beach, Fl and Timothy Franklin and his spouse Cheryl Franklin, Fort Pierce, FL.

Also surviving are grandchildren Bryan Perkins, Rochester, NY, Brett Perkins, Portland, OR, Jessica Franklin, Clarks Summit, PA, and Erica Franklin, Red Lodge, England. Also one great grandchild, Sean Foster Perkins, Rochester, NY. Nieces and nephews.

Brothers Jim Franklin, Roger Franklin and Ben Franklin also survive Gene. Gene was preceded in death by siblings Lloyd, Russell, Donald, Richard, Mildred, Fern, Ginger, Lorraine and Arlene.

Gene will be greatly missed by Linda's children Andrew Caswell and spouse Ami, Ann Richardson and spouse James. Also grandchildren Ethan, Dylan and Nathan Caswell and James and Grace Richardson.

Funeral arrangements are through Aycock Funeral Home 1504 SE Floresta Dr, Port St Lucie and the funeral service will be held at Grace Emmanuel Church, 707 Kitterman Rd, Port St. Lucie, FL on Friday, 3/6/2015 at 11 AM. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM.
