He met and married the love of his life, Marjorie DiSarno, in 1950 then soon after he entered the U.S. Marine Corps. Vince served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was extremely proud to be a marine and always wore and eagle pendant to show his pride for serving in the military and for his country.
In 1968 he relocated from New Jersey to Miramar, Florida where he worked as a machinist for Eastern Airlines until he retired and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1987. He then worked as an engineer at Grumman Defense Aircraft Corporation until 1993.
Vince was a talented artist and some of his favorite types of art to create were stained glass, painting and calligraphy. Anybody that met Vince would remember his most famous work of art, his handlebar mustache.
Vince loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Marjorie Perna, son, Vinny Perna Jr., son-in-law, Paul Fiterman and 5 siblings. His survivors include daughter, Roseann Fiterman of Pembroke Pines, FL; granddaughter, Kelly Higgins (Bob) of Plantation, FL; great granddaughter, Aubrey Higgins and many nieces and nephews.
Vince had a love for life and wanted to live until 100 years old. He was such a happy, positive person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
