Tim graduated from High School in Schenectady, NY and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Tim passed away at his home at the age of 72 on Sunday, January 28, 2024 after stoically fighting several illnesses. He did not complain as he underwent countless procedures for his Peripheral Artery Disease on his legs since 2006. On June 22, 2022, he underwent heart surgery and had a TAVR heart valve inserted. On August 8, 2022 he had a right lung lobectomy for lung cancer. On March 23, 2023, he had his right leg amputated and unfortunately was unable to use his prosthetic for stump pain. On December 18, 2023, he started radiation treatments for cancer of the tonsil. After all that, he still remained brave, calm and counted his blessings. He loved cheering on the Florida State Seminoles, the Miami Dolphins and the Boise State Broncos.
Tim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Schuett Spears; his daughter, Erin Kay Spears, son-in-law, Frank Mancuso III, and granddaughter, Aria Grace Mancuso, all of Jacksonville, FL; his 101 year old mother, Kathleen Spears of Vero Beach, FL; his sister, Susan Szakall of Hollywood, FL; sister, Donna Handy and husband, Bobby of Holiday, FL; brother, Thomas Spears and wife, Aline of Eatonton, GA; sister, Deborah Caulfield of Vero Beach, FL; and brother, Steven Spears and wife, Karen of Vero Beach, FL. He was loved and cherished by his in-laws, countless nieces and nephews from Idaho, Minnesota and Florida, and friends from Alaska to New York. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Winston G.
