Lt. Col. Robert R. Curtis was born in Blackstone, MA on May 5th, 1924 to Lola and Benjamin Curtis. He passed away peacefully at his home in Port Saint Lucie, FL on March 31st, 2021 with his family and lap dog Katia by his side.
He is survived by his Wife, Kristal; two Sons, Jordan and Justin of Port St. Lucie; his Daughter, Penny Bellew (Kevin); and three Grandsons, Casey, Conor, and Joe of Rhode Island.
He served honorably in the US Marines for 5 years, 4th Marine Division and the U.S. Army for over 23 years. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War. For his service he earned two purple hearts. He achieved the rank of Lt. Col. U.S. Army Infantry Division.
After he retired from the Army he was a high school teacher and coach. He loved football, golf, food, smoking his pipe and enjoyed a Coors Light at 5:00 PM.
