Paul was born February 12, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland to Pearl (Frazier) & Bert Epperson, one of 18 children. He grew up in Dundalk and married Margaret (Peggy) A. Costenbader in 1965.
Shortly after marrying, Paul joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam war in the 4258th Strategic Wing at U-Tapao Airfield in Thailand. He spent another 12 years in the reserves after active duty and earned numerous medals and awards during his military career.
After returning to Baltimore, Paul became a salesman for office equipment, paint & sundries, and plumbing supplies. Work took the family to Columbus, Ohio before finally settling in south Florida. When he wasn’t working, Paul enjoyed golf and loved being outdoors feeding and caring for wildlife. Upon retirement, he was an avid coin collector and spent many years discovering his family background through tireless genealogy research.
Paul was a loving husband and father and a brave and honorable soldier. He is predeceased by his parents, Bert and Pearl Epperson and 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Peggy of 58 years; his two children Renee Defelippi (Steve) and Christopher Epperson (Debbie), his three grandchildren: Emma, Bella and Jason, and four sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Paul’s name for the remarkable care provided to him in his final days to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, Florida 34997 or online at https://www.treasurehealth.org/292/Donate
