LaChance, Pamela J; Pamela Joan Ferguson LaChance Culligan passed away August 21, 2019 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
She was the youngest child of Edward Ferguson and Dorothy Abrams Ferguson born March 2, 1944 in Providence, RI. She grew up in Putnam, CT and attended local schools graduating from Putnam High School. She went on to receiver her Bachelor of Science in Education at Central Connecticut State University. She taught school in South Windsor, CT for two years before leaving to raise her family. After her two sons, Matthew and Keith LaChance reached a certain age she returned to the business world mostly in the marine boat industry and leading into boat and custom automobile financing. She then went to work for Middlesex Cardiology Associates in Middletown, CT where she found her niche. Beginning as a front desk person she advanced through the practice until she became Director of Operations and after 22 years she retired. Eventually she and her husband Edward Culligan relocated to Port Saint Lucie, Florida where she enjoyed retirement. Together they traveled to a total of 24 countries and 27 states. She became very active in the Vista Saint Lucie community volunteering in bingo, fashion shows, recipe exchange events, pool aerobics, chair yoga, shuffle board and a host of other things. Her personality, quick wit, helpful attitude, enthusiastic and energetic activity as well as her special smile that never went away made her the darling of the community.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, her sons Matthew LaChance (Christine) and Keith LaChance (Rosalia) and her grandchildren Keith Armand LaChance and Rhea Dorothy Marie LaChance. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Ferguson Godley (Benjamin) and her brother Richard Ferguson (Alice) as well as her brother-in-law Richard Eberle. In addition there are numerous nieces and nephews mourning her passing. Besides her parents she was pre-deceased by her sister Claudia Ferguson Eberle (Richard) and her grandson Joseph LaChance. Her final wish was to have her body donated to science in keeping with her constant need to help other people.
There will be no funeral service but a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Port Saint Lucie and in Middletown, CT.
