Marianne passed away on June 23, 2024 with loving family by her side. She was pre-deceased by her husband of sixty-six years, Kenneth F. Savela on February 9, 2024. She is survived by their six children, Kenneth Savela of Vineland, NJ, his wife Lynn; Gregory Savela of Stuart, FL, his wife Sherrie; Richard Savela of Lantana, FL, his wife Gail; Robert Savela of Green Cove Springs, FL;, his wife Patty; Colleen Walizer of Stuart, FL and her husband Jay; and Brian Savela of Costa Mesa, CA and his wife Rose. In addition to being a loving mother of six, she was a terrific grandmother of eighteen grandchildren, and a wonderful great-grandmother to over a dozen great-grandchildren.
Marianne led a lifetime of caring for her family and others. Early years of her marriage were consumed with raising six children but she found time in her busy schedule to go to school, attending Oakland Community College in Michigan, receiving her Associates Degree in Applied Science with a concentration in Nursing in June 1973. She worked at Pontiac General Hospital in Pontiac Michigan as a surgical nurse. She reveled in additional duties representing the nurses union and helping out the elderly at blood pressure clinics at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milford, Michigan, the family church for many years. Following Ken’s retirement they moved to Jupiter Florida where she was employed by the Jupiter Medical Center as a surgical nurse, and further worked in training and quality control followed by a well deserved retirement as an RN manager at the age of 80. She also possessed a lifelong passion for learning, re-certifying regularly, taking continuing education classes and still contemplating her next training course well after retirement. At the age of 66 Marianne proudly walked the stage at Barry University, Miami, FL to receive her Bachelors degree.
Marianne loved her family dearly. Her children all recall growing up with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, and friends. Holiday parties, and summer picnics were always cheerful and filled with laughter. Her passion was about being with family.
