Lillian B. Parsons, 94, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away March 15, 2017 just days short of her 95th birthday. Lillian was born and raised in Deep River, Connecticut and moved from Connecticut to Florida on Christmas Eve in 2002. She enjoyed caring for foster children in her younger years along with babysitting for other’s children. Her pride and joy as she got older were her grandchildren. Lillian cherished her family. In what spare time she had, Lillian would sew, crochet, cook, and enjoyed writing about her past experiences. She enjoyed company and her “door was always open”. In her younger years, she was active in helping out with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. As Lillian got older, she had memorable experiences traveling to Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania to visit family. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Albert Parsons in 1980; granddaughter, Melissa Parsons in 2016; siblings, Sadie Katherine, who passed away from heart issues in 1937, Mary, Charlotte, Eddie, Irving, and Bobby, all who passed away in a tragic fire in 1938, and Bill and Bert Beckwith. Survivors include her son, David Parsons (Christine), of Clinton, Connecticut; daughter, Sadie Mather (Jim), of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Matthew Parsons, Cory Mather (Maria), Michele Parsons (Tony), and Denise Fanslau (Dennis); great grandchildren, Justin, Gage, Quinn, Jase, Christopher, Hunter, Blake, Janelle, Rylee, Kira, Makenna, and Emery; sister, Lori Durbin (Rich); many nieces and nephews; and children she cared for over the years including Joanne, Rex, Tracy, and Gaye. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lillian’s honor to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
