Kenneth was born in Stone Mountain, Georgia to parents Edmond and Roberta Spinks. He has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past 29 years, coming from Arlington, Virginia.
After serving six years in the Navy in the Korean War, he served in the Florida Army National Guard for 26 years, retiring after proudly serving his country for 32 years.
He was the beloved husband for 31 years to Betty (Lee) Spinks; loving father to Randy, Darrell (Rosalyn), William (Laura) Stallings, Dawn (Thomas) Bertnick, and Michael Stallings; proud grandfather of Alexis Stallings, Jennifer, Heather, Christian, Callin, Chase, Charlene and Chloey Tarango, William and Emily Stallings; brother of Barbara Traylor; Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, Donald, brother-in-law of June Rich, Louis Lee, and Phillip Traylor. Kenneth is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Kenneth enjoyed living in South Florida. He enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day each year on his birthday, as well as Oktoberfest. He was also fortunate to have enjoyed celebrating each of these holidays along with his wife during several trips to Europe and the UK.
Kenneth was an accomplished artist having painted many portraits, as well as caricatures and cartoons for various military newspapers. To honor the men and women serving their country, he was inspired to compose a song that was accepted and archived by the National Guard.
Kenneth enjoyed studying American history. He was respectful and deeply appreciative of the people who lived and struggled to help shape our country's history.
A military honors service will be held at South Florida National Cemetery on Friday, June 17, at 1:45 PM, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33467
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any local VFW post.
