Karen E. Hampson, Port St. Lucie, 66, passed away peacefully in Hospice on February 15, 2019. She was born July 15, 1952 in New York City and raised in Ramsey, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Eve Dilday.
Karen graduated from Ramsey High School, Ramsey, New Jersey in the class of 1970. She maintained friendships throughout the years, and renewed many at her 40th and 45th reunions. Karen will be greatly missed by the "Ramsey family of classmates, 1970." As the high school yearbook stated under her name, "She speaks for herself", and all that knew her can agree.
She moved to Florida in the late 1970's and had a career as a legal secretary, paralegal and executive assistant. Her friends and co-workers will treasure wonderful memories of Karen. She enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles with her husband, reading, dancing and spoiling her cats.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Edward Hampson, Jr., her supportive step-son, Timothy Hampson (Patty) and was blessed to marry into such a loving and caring family. She is survived on her maternal side by her dear uncle, Stan Gedge (June) and countless beloved cousins and extended family in the United Kingdom. On her paternal side, she is survived by her cousin, Ted Dilday (Pam) of Ohio and Susan Dilday of Virginia. Karen was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Lukas, Jr. and is lovingly remembered by the Lukas family.
Karen was predeceased by her twin brother, Keith Dilday. She was a member of the Episcopal faith.
At the request of the family, her burial will be private. A Celebration of Life event will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 12:00PM noon - 3:30PM. For directions please contact Michelle at 772-475-4515.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie.
