Jennifer Ann Newth Denny, 41, of Lakeland, FL died suddenly Wednesday afternoon September 10, 2014. Jennifer was born in Livingston, NJ on November 26, 1972 to Richard and Patricia Newth and spent her childhood in Pensacola, FL. She attended elementary, middle and high school in Pensacola, graduating with honors from Booker T. Washington High School in 1990. She attended Huntington College in Montgomery, AL for one year and then transferred to Florida State where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work in 1994. In her early professional years Jennifer worked in a variety of hospital settings providing invaluable assistance to families in need.
Jennifer married Kevin Denny on August 16, 2002. Kevin’s career took them to Wilmington, NC, Jupiter, FL, Port Saint Lucie, FL and Lakeland, FL. Jennifer and Kevin had a daughter, Hannah, born on May 23, 2004. Jennifer became a stay-at-home mom thereafter.
A life-long member of the United Methodist Church Jennifer served as Youth Director at First United Methodist Church in Tequesta for several years.
During the time that Jennifer lived in Lakeland she worked tirelessly to ensure that her daughter, Hannah, was well adjusted into her school environment and was receiving the assistance she needed. Hannah was the “apple of her eye.”
Jennifer is survived by daughter Hannah Noel Mattie Denny, parents, Pat (Jim) Williams and Richard (Beverly) Newth, sister Tracy (Warren) Cleveland, brothers Jay (Kathleen) Williams, Chris (Amy) Williams, Brian (Wendi) Williams, Stephanie (Danny) Mitchell and Richard Newth along with several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jennifer had countless friends whom she always cared about and stayed in touch with over the years. A friend of Jennifer’s was a friend for life.
Services will be held on September 18, 2014 at 1 pm at First United Methodist Church of Stuart. Burial will be in Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL.
