Born in Lynbrook, Long Island, NY, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL since 1990 moving from Garden City Park, NY.
Fred was raised in Woodmere and Lynbrook, NY, and graduated from Lynbrook High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the Destroyers U.S.S. Moffett and U.S.S. Ernest G. Small. Following his service in the Navy, he joined the reserves with the SeaBee’s.
Mr. Pearsall retired from AT&T after 37 years as a Lineman and Installer in Lynbrook, NY. He also was a former owner of Tally Ho Signs in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Fred was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Port St. Lucie, FL; a former District Officer for the 12th District American Legion and previous Commander of the American Legion in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was also a member of the Past Commander’s Club, American Legion and served as Chef de Gare for the La Societe des Quarante Hommers et Huit Chevaux 40&8 “The Society of Forty men and Eight Horses”, which in 1929 was described as the “fun-making” organization of the American Legion.
He was also a volunteer fireman for 37 years with the Tally Ho Engine 3 Department in Lynbrook, NY and the Woodmere NY Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, which included a restoration of a historic fire truck for the Lynbrook, Fire Department.
Fred was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Joan; one son Christopher and parents Fred and Isabella.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Diane Pearsall; two sons, William Pearsall and Frederick J Pearsall; grandson, Frederick Pearsall and one brother James Pearsall.
A Memorial Service will be held in June at the Lynbrook Fire Dept., Lynbrook, NY.
