Eva Stokes was born in Salem, OH to Emerson Apple and Katherine Rohan Apple. She then moved to Parkersburg, WV before finally settling down in Port Saint Lucie, FL with her husband Ed Stokes and daughter Davita Mastroff. Before she retired, Eva was an Operations Management Consultant (OMC) for the state of Florida. She took pride in her work and met many lifelong friends there.
Eva was a person rooted in strength. She was a rock for all those around her. She not only led by example, but also provided conditions for others to rise up and find their own path. Eva was creative. She loved cooking, baking, photography, and art. She passed down knowledge of these subjects to all those around her, not only to her family but also to the friends and neighbors who became more like family every day. Her home had an open-door policy and all were welcome, loved, and accepted. Like she said, “we never forget the family we grew.”
Eva is survived by her daughter, Davita Mastroff; her granddaughter Raechel Mastroff; her sister Karen Hewitt; and many other beloved family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life party on Saturday August 1st at her daughter Dee’s residence. Please check Aycock Funeral Home on Floresta’s website or facebook for more information.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eva’s memory to Treasure Coast Hospice www.treasurehealth.org or to American Cancer Society www.cancer.org
