Ernie is survived by his children Spencer, Brianna (Devin), Hunter, and Morgan; their mother Cindy; his brothers, Chris (Deena) and David (Amy); nieces and nephews David II, Madison, and Kaitlyn; dog Daisy Mae; and beloved motorcycle Clarabelle. He is predeceased by his parents, Ernie and Laverne.
Ernie was born in Bayshore, Long Island on May 10, 1966. He graduated from Fort Pierce Central High School and proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Jason from 1985-1988. Ernie was known to childhood and adulthood friends alike as the “life of the party”, always making everyone laugh until they cried! He humbly received an Award of Excellence from White City Elementary School for a heroic lifesaving act, as well as a Certificate of Achievement in recognition of always putting SuePop second. After serving in the military, he started a beautiful family with then-wife Cindy and founded and owned Color Craft Paint for 20 years until he started his career at the St. Lucie County School Board. He was a Scout Master of Cub Scouts Troop 449, a SCUBA dive master, and had many passions. He loved to scroll-saw beautiful works of art to gift to family, friends, and charity. He also loved to fish, cook, ride his motorcycle, but loved spending time with his kids most of all. He will be incredibly missed by family, friends, and coworkers.
His celebration of life is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on July 17, 2021 at the Aycock Funeral Home on Floresta Drive, with a reception to be held afterwards on 885 Sandia Avenue.
The family wants to especially thank Ernie’s childhood friends Sue Biles as well as Mike and Al Coffey for the endless love and help they provided in his last couple of months.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice.
